Jiwan Kim

Hello, I'm Jiwan Kim.
Currently, working on Around-Device Sensing on Wearables.

I am a second year PhD student at the school of Electrical Engineering in KAIST, under the guidance of Professor Ian Oakley in WIT Lab. My research interest lies in 'Mobile sensing' and 'Digital Healthcare', specifically, 'Around Device Interaction on Wearables' and 'Digital Phenotyping'. I completed my Bachelor's (Top of the school, HFE and CSE) and Master's degree (Design, Interaction Lab) at UNIST. Previously, I researched at SciFi Lab at Cornell University (with Cheng Zhang (2025)), the HCI group at Melbourne University (with Professor Vassilis Kostakos (2023)), and Hyper-Reality Metaverse Research Lab at ETRI (2024).

I'm a receipent of Graduate Presidential Science Scholarship (대학원 대통령과학장학생) from 2024-2028 and Ph.D. fellowship (박사과정생연구장려금) from NRF (National Research Foundation) of Korea from 2024-2026.
